About Us

Educational Mission Statement

The educational mission of the Livingston School District, in partnership with the community, is to provide the opportunity for all students to learn, in a safe environment, the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed in order to become life-long learners and contributing citizens in a diverse society.
 

Class Size

Class size for grades K-2 averages 19 students per class. Classes in grades 3-12 average 26 with no class in the district having more than 30 students (with the exception of instrumental and vocal music classes and study halls).
 

Organization

The Livingston District consists of two separate legal entities. School District #4 is an elementary district for grades K-8 and consists of two elementary schools and one middle school. Park High School is designated District #1 and serves grades 9-12. The elementary district is governed by a 7 member board of trustees. These trustees also serve as trustees for the high school district. The high school district has an additional 2 trustees to represent the surrounding elementary districts of Arrowhead, Pine Creek, and Springdale.

Livingston Public Schools takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

    • Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.
    • Appoint accessibility specialists.
    • Provide continual accessibility training for our staff.
    • Assign clear accessibility targets and responsibilities.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Livingston Public Schools is partially conformant with WCAG 2.0 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Known limitations for Livingston Public Schools:

The website is undergoing a redesign for accessibility issues in 2022: Some images and design layers are not visible and have no text alternatives. Parts of the calendar are not accessible because of a lack of focus. We are working with the Office of Civil Rights to correct these errors in design. Formal complaints

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 2 business days and to propose a solution within 10 business days. You are entitled to escalate a complaint to the Livingston School District Superintendent’s Office, should you be dissatisfied with our response to you.
